Discover You

The second step in our simple process at House on the Rock London is the Discovery of Self.

After the discover of God we believe that the next most important discovery is to discover who you are.

A lot of the problems in the world today can be traced back to an identity crisis. When we do not know who we really are we are vulnerable to many deceptions. Eve fell for the deception of the serpent in the beginning because she did not know who she was. She disobeyed God in an attempt to become what she was already was. This is till happening today with men attempting to earn their way to God instead of accepting what God has already made them in Christ Jesus.

Simon discovered God declaring that Jesus was the Christ and Jesus told him that he was no longer Simon but Peter. When you discover God then next thing is that God unveils the real you to you.

So part of our key assignments is to help you discover you. You are defined by your calling (purpose), your gifts and talents (potential) and your competence (power).

This what Paul was praying about in Ephesians 1:16-19 – ‘do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.’
